Food and packaging industry

Food technology is one of the areas of application in which a lot of plastic is traditionally used, and not just as a packaging material. The trend towards ever faster processes and ever higher output volumes means that components made of engineering plastics are frequently used, particularly in machines in the food and packaging industry.

Technical solutions made from special and high-performance plastics help to reduce mass, minimise wear and increase availability. In addition, the plastics offer significant advantages due to their fundamentally good corrosion resistance, particularly in CIP processes and in processes with aggressive media. The goal of avoiding contamination as far as possible can also be realised, particularly through lubricant-free, dry-running components and correspondingly detectable plastics.
