Sealing and fluid technology is one of the classic areas of application for thermoplastics and/or elastomers. Seals, support rings, valves, pistons or slides, but also diaphragms are typical components in hydraulic or pneumatic systems that are often made from engineering plastics. Components made from special customised and high-performance plastics can even be used in cryogenic applications.
